leo jensen consulting projectLeo was engaged as an advisor to the CEO, assisting and providing advice on several council projects including economic development programs, the St George library hub project, wild dog exclusion fencing program, and assisting with Balonne’s disaster management obligations.

Leo Jensen Consulting was successfully appointed to project manage two externally funded disaster management related projects in 2021-22.

  • Balonne – River Height Monitoring Project ($0.53Million)

This project delivers the roll out of flood warning infrastructure across 19 locations in the Balonne Shire region that will enhance local intelligence and visibility to disaster events, in particular flooding.

  • SWQLGA Regional Disaster Resilience Project

This project sees the review of local disaster management plans and supporting sub plans across five south-western local government areas – Balonne, Bulloo, Murweh, Paroo and Quilpie.  This engagement works with a range of supporting agencies and local staff to review LDMPs and supporting documentation.

The role has also supported the Queensland Reconstruction Authority’s Regional Resilience Strategy work for the South-West Queensland region, and the associated local knowledge mapping being prepared by the QRA for the respective local government areas.
